Despite Reconfigured NHL Season, Stanley Cup Legit

The results of a survey conducted by Maru/Blue Public Opinion indicate that a majority of the 2019-2020 NHL season Stanley Cup playoff watchers (56%) and those who self-identify as ardent hockey fans (57%) believe that despite a reconfigured season, the Stanley Cup winner will take home the same prestige and honour as in all team winners in the past.

In fact, whilst four in 10 (41%) of all series watchers and self-described fans (39%) believe the Stanley Cup awarded to the winning team this year “will not really be a legitimate Stanley Cup win because of the revamped season and how it has been played out”, a full majority of Canadians who will tune in for some or all of the Stanley Cup playoffs (59%) and of the ardent fans (61%) cheering their team on believe “the Stanley Cup award is a Stanley Cup award is a Stanley Cup award to the winning team” and will have the same honour and prestige no matter how it is won this year with the revamped season and how it is played out.
