Ontario Notwithstanding Election Limits

A new survey released today by Maru Public Opinion finds a relative split in public opinion on the Ford Government’s recent third-party ad-limiting election reform package and its subsequent invocation of the Constitution’s not-withstanding-clause to override an Ontario Superior Court that ruled the new 12-month pre-election restriction was unnecessary and infringed on rights set out in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
