Homeownership dreams persist
A new Maru Public Opinion conducted for CIBC finds that despite concerns about affordability, the dream of owning a home persists as a top goal for a majority of non-homeowners (71%). That expectation is even anticipated by parents for the next generation, as two-thirds (63%) of those with children at home say they plan to help their kids with a down payment someday. As for today, many current homeowners (40% and 53% with children) may consider selling their homes when economic conditions stabilize.
