Failing sexual consent

The results of a new Maru Public Opinion survey undertaken for the Canadian Women’s Foundation found that when put to the test, a majority (55%) of Canadians do not meet the legal threshold in understanding what constitutes “consent” when it comes to sexual activity. According to Canadian law, consent should be positive (such as saying yes, initiating, and enthusiastic participation) and ongoing (continuing during the sexual activity).
